New Delhi, 1st Dec 2018: On this AIDS day, Synergie and Castrol India dedicated the day by spreading awareness about HIV by organizing a friendly cricket match between Truck Drivers Associations and Truck Drivers in Delhi at Sant Sujan Singh International School.
World AIDS Day is observed on December 1 every year. The initiative was part of the ‘Sarthi Mitra Programme’, a CSR initiative by Castrol that works for holistic development of truck drivers. The event was graced by Sh. Kultaran Singh Atwal, Chairman of All India Motor Transport Congress. He commented that, “In India truck drivers are most vulnerable to being HIV Positive. Hence, it is very important to educate them and help them in proper treatment and care which will help them live a healthy life.”
The winner of the match was Sarthi Mitra Lions. The idea behind the initiative was to empower the truck drivers to protect themselves and their loved ones.
